Groupement Forestier des Cantons

History, mission, vision and policy

History

History

The Groupement forestier des Cantons originated from the merger in 2022 of the two forestry groups, Aménagement forestier et agricole des Sommets (1978) and Groupement Forestier du Haut-Yamaska (1978). The establishment of each of these two forestry groups came from the desire of the forest landowners to develop their woodlots. With a modest beginning of 75 owners interested in forestry, the group has grown to nearly 2,200 members.
